The Alliance of Concerned Teachers-Philippines is a progressive, militant and nationalist organization of teachers, academic non-teaching personnel and non-academic non-teaching personnel established in June 26, 1982.
It is the largest non-traditional teachers’ organization in the country which works for the economic and political well-being of teachers and all other education workers as well as for genuine social transformation.
HIYAW or 'shout out' is a voice of the militant and progressive Filipinos and sharply articulates cries, statements and calls of their mass organizations, formations, groups and communities which are bound by a common love for the motherland, specifically the struggle to achieve genuine freedom, democracy, justice, progress and lasting peace in the Philippines.
Matapos lumahok sa relief operations sa Calaca, Batangas, lumubog sa masa at lumahok sa produksyon ang volunteers ng SAKA. Naranasan nila ang hirap ng atrasadong agrikultura dulot ng piyudalismong nagkakait ng lupa at imperyalismong nagko-convert nito tungo sa ibang pakinabang ng malalaking korporasyon.
