Around 4,000 undergraduate students from the University of the Philippines Diliman officially graduated as they shifted their sablay to their left shoulders during the 108th commencement exercises at the UP Diliman Amphitheater, June 30.

Joshua Emmanuel Ramos from the College of Social Science and Philosophy delivered this year’s speech, urging his fellow graduates to always stand for the rights of the marginalized like the Lumad. Ramos also spoke in support of the LGBT community, saying that love has no boundaries, religion, race, or gender.

A lightning rally capped off the ceremonies with calls to protect national sovereignty, defend the freedom of the press, and to uphold human rights.
