Martial law in Mindanao has claimed another farmer’s life in Cabanglasan. According to a report from Kasama Bukidnon, 29-year old Daniel Tilucan, married and a father to three children, was beheaded by masked men around 8pm on June 25.

Just 9 days prior, Nonoy Palma of KASAMA-Bukidnon–the local chapter of Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas–was gunned down by three suspects on a motorcycle. One was identified as a member of the dreaded paramilitary group Alamara.

Tilucan’s murder took place on the same night the recent abduction of eight farmers in Negros began. Just as his beheading happened under martial law in Mindanao, their abduction was carried out under de-facto martial law imposed by Memorandum Order 32 in Negros.

Intended as counter-insurgency measures, martial law and MO32 have instead been victimizing civilians, killing members and leaders of organizations that mobilize for the assertion of their right to land and justice.

Justice for Daniel and Nonoy! Justice for all peasants killed by the fascist Duterte regime!
